Home Health Care Funding and Nursing Home Funding Resources
There are a number of funding options for clients seeking home health care or nursing home care, including:
Veterans' Aid and Attendance : If you are a veteran who served during wartime, you may qualify for up to $1,949 in monthly aid and attendance benefits for home health care, assisted living or nursing home care. Spouses of deceased veterans may qualify for up to $1,056 in similar monthly benefits.
Medicaid: It is difficult to qualify for Medicaid, as Medicaid has very strict income and asset limits. But that doesn't mean that you have to spend every last penny you have in order to get the home health care or nursing home care you need. We can help you establish trusts create a life care plan and reallocate assets so that you may qualify.
The Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders provides a wide range of home health care services, including case management, transportation and delivered meals. It draws funding from Medicaid and state sources. In order to qualify for the Medicaid-funded waiver, your income may not exceed $2,022 per month with strict limits on assets. There are no income limits for state-funded services, however, and with proper planning the $2,022 limit will not disqualify you.
